4:30 p.m. Medford police are looking for a man who robbed a motel's front desk clerk at gunpoint early this morning.

At about 3:55 a.m. police responded to the report of an armed robbery at Millwood Inn, 1030 N. Riverside Ave., Medford. The clerk, who was working alone at the front desk of the motel, told police that a man entered the lobby and completed a registration card to rent a room. When the clerk asked for payment for the room, the man pointed a pistol at the clerk, Medford police said in a news release this afternoon.

The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man ran out.

The suspect is described as possibly Hispanic, 40 to 45 years old with a dark brown beard and mustache. He was wearing dark colored jeans, tennis shoes with white trim, a dark colored hooded jacket or sweatshirt and a stocking cap, police said. The victim was unable to estimate the robber's height and weight because he was wearing several layers of clothing.

Police are requesting assistance in identifying the man seen in surveillance footage from the motel. Investigators ask anyone with information to call Detective Stephanie Smith at 541-774-2214.
