The seventh edition of the Rogue Valley Rumble professional boxing series will be Saturday, and Central Point’s Mike Wilson will attempt to remain undefeated as the headliner of the card.
The fights — there are seven scheduled — are at the Jackson County Expo. Doors open at 6 p.m., and fights start at 7.
Advance general admission tickets are $20 and available at Lil Pantry and Hawaiian Hut. At the door, they are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 12-under. Kids 4-under get in free.
The event is put on by WhiteDelight Promotions, the company owned by Wilson and his wife, Jenifer.
Wilson is the 10th-ranked cruiserweight in the country. He upped his record to 16-0 in January with a unanimous decision over Aaron Chavers, of Oklahoma City, at the Expo. It was Chavers’ first loss.
Wilson will fight Ernest Reyna (8-3), of Corpus Christi, Texas, in a scheduled 10-rounder. It’s the longest for Wilson as a pro. His previous two fights were eight rounds.
Two other local boxers will be in action. Medford’s Rafael Valencia (3-6-1) faces Fatlum Zhuta (3-0-1), of Anchorage, Alaska, at 170 pounds, and Medford’s Ricky Gallegos (6-5-1) meets Josh Solis (0-2), of Paterson, Washington, at 169.
Their bouts are scheduled for four rounds.
Other four-rounders pit heavyweights Elvis Garcia (0-2), of San Diego, against DJ Linderman (2-2), of Yreka, California, and at 193 pounds, Carlos Villanueva (2-0), of Yakima, Washington, against Alberto Rivas (2-0), of Bend.
In a five-round fight, Corben Page (5-13-1), of Humboldt, California, takes on Victor Morales, Jr., (4-0), of Camas, Washington, at 131 pounds.
