Trail closures planned during Ashland forest work

Several Ashland trails near the watershed will be closed during forest thinning operations starting Wednesday, Sept. 26.

The commercial, helicopter-based thinning operations, part of the Ashland Forest Resiliency Stewardship project, will close the No Candies Trail until November. Ground-based work also will be done along the Eastview Trail area along upper Tolman Creek Road.

Crews will start Wednesday with tree cutting in preparation for the operations, which will focus on work along the No Candies Trail/Skyline Mine Ridge/U.S. Forest Service 400 Road area.

Helicopter thinning will start Oct. 15, closing additional trails and roads on the west side of the watershed.
