Tiptoe through the daffodils

It's that time of the year again in Shady Cove. The community's annual Daffodil Daze Festival gets under way this morning.

Participants in the Daffy Hat Parade will promenade through town from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids can decorate visors with Spring themes at 10 a.m. at the Tree of Life Christian Preschool and join a children's parade at 11 a.m. Storytelling will be at the Shady Cove library after the children's parade, and a puppet show will be presented at 1 p.m. at Books 'N More.

Shuttles will leave Edgewater Inn from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for tours of Daffodil Hill. Shuttles cost $2. Self-guided drives on Daffodil Hill also are available. Reservations must be made to reserve seats on the historic trolley. Call 878-3626 or 821-4700 for reservations.

Throughout town, participants plan artwork displays and sales, live music, food and an antique car show.

The fun continues Sunday.
