Theater postpones 'Glacial Genes' opening

The opening of "Glacial Genes," a new play by award-winning author Molly Best Tinsley, has been postponed until Nov. 7 at Oregon Stage Works in the A Street Market Place in Ashland.

The play originally was scheduled to open Thursday but was delayed when the director became ill and was unable to complete the project, OSW Producing Artistic Director Peter Alzado said.

"Glacial Genes" examines how our changing relationship with nature and the vagaries of global warming might affect our relationships with one another, and how we might preserve our messy, funny existence, even in the face of catastrophe.

Alzado, who has taken over direction of the play, says tickets purchased for this week will be honored any time during the run.

Previews are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. The show will run at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays with 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays through Nov. 16.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the Music Coop in Ashland or at
