Thanks to those who give

They are everywhere, but they don't seek attention or praise, so it may be easy to overlook them.

We take note of them on this page from time to time, and perhaps we should do so more often. There never seems to be a shortage of them, or a limit to their contributions.

They are Southern Oregonians who give of themselves — of their time, of their resources, of their energy, of their hearts — to make our community a better place. We are all richer for their efforts.

On this Thanksgiving Day, we assemble some of them who were mentioned in our news pages over the past year. They are only a few of the many who give back to the community in which we all live.

Many others did not receive the attention these did, but they are just as valuable and just as worthy of our gratitude.

To all who give, we say, thanks.
