Task force gathers thoughts on gangs

The Jackson County Gang Task Force plans a series of 10 community meetings to gather information about how serious the public perceives the gang problem in Southern Oregon to be.

The first meeting will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Eagle Point library, 239 W. Main St., Eagle Point.

Attendees will be asked to complete a questionnaire about their perceptions of gangs. Collected data will be used to consider how county resources should be used going forward to combat gangs. Officials said it will also assist in applying for federal grants.

Participation is voluntary and anonymous. Questionnaires will take around 30 minutes to complete, officials said.
