Talks cover history of pear industry

Sue Naumes, a member of one of the Rogue Valley's longtime orchard families, speaks about the area's pear industry in a pair of talks next month.

Naumes will speak at noon Wednesday, Oct. 6 at the Medford Branch Library, 205 S. Central Ave., and at noon Wednesday, Oct. 13 at the Ashland Branch Library, 400 Siskiyou Blvd. People who attend may bring lunches to eat.

Naumes will talk about the evolution of the industry with insight from her family's experience.

The talks are part of a "Windows in Time" series offered monthlyl by the Southern Oregon Historical Society and the Jackson County Library System.
