Talent's early families share history

Members of Talent's pioneer families will gather to share family stories and artifacts at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Talent Historical Society Museum, 105 N. Market St., between the Talent Community Hall and the library.

Talent native and Southern Oregon University professor Pat Bentley will lead the informal round-table discussion. Participating families include Bish, Burnette, Coghill, Gleim, Hartley, Jacobs, Macabee, Mason, Morrison, and Taylor. Their personal histories help provide insights into the Talent area and its culture, organizers said.

The free public gathering is dubbed "Talent As It Was — Stories of Past Years — Round Two." Talent historian Jan Wright led a similar discussion previously. Light refreshments will be served.

For details, call 541-512-8838. The museum is open from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
