Talent police investigate coffee shop robbery

Talent police are investigating a reported armed robbery at a coffee stand Sunday.

A woman working at Organic Grind Coffee, near the intersection of West Valley View Road and Highway 99, called 9-1-1 at about 11:30 a.m. Sunday to report being robbed by a man with a knife.
Police said the man took an undisclosed amount of money and walked away, toward the Anjou Club Apartments.

The robber was described as a white man in his mid-30s with a dark, ruddy complexion and dark spots on his face. He had short, brown hair and brown eyes. He was about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a long-sleeved, blue shirt with the cuffs rolled up and dark pants.

Phoenix police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department joined in the search, along with a police dog. They couldn’t find the robber.
Police suspect he might be a transient who had a bike nearby that he could have used for his escape. He should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case can call Talent police at 535-1253.
