Stabbing suspect held on parole violation

Medford police have arrested a man they suspect stabbed two people in Hawthorne Park Tuesday night.

The investigation into the double stabbing led police to Daniel Dwayne Logsdon, 27, of the 1200 block of Morrow Road this morning. Officers arrested him on charges of parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender and plan to add charges linked to the stabbings Thursday, Medford police Lt. Tim Doney said.

Logsdon was convicted of third-degree rape in 2005 while he was serving a prison term for an earlier stabbing.

Doney said that two groups of people, some of whom had been drinking, got into a dispute at the park shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday. During the altercation, Logsdon allegedly pulled out a knife, stabbing two 22-year-old men from Medford, police said.

Both victims underwent surgery at Rogue Valley Medical Center and are recovering, police said.
