Singler scores nine off bench in Detroit victory

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Kyle Singler scored nine points in just over 15 minutes of action on Tuesday as the Detroit Pistons routed Orlando 112-86 in preseason play.

Singler, a Medford native, came off the bench to shoot 3-of-4 from the field to go with two rebounds, one assist and a steal. He was 1-for-1 from 3-point range and hit both of his free-throw attempts.

Rodney Stuckey scored 19 points and Greg Monroe added 15 points and four rebounds to lead the Pistons.

Rookie DeQuan Jones had 22 points to pace Orlando (0-4).

Orlando was without five players, including Arron Afflalo (strained left hamstring) and Al Harrington (right knee rehabilitation). Rookie Chris Johnson also left the game in the fourth quarter with a leg injury.
