Singler comes up big in Alicante victory

Kyle Singler turned in a big-time performance and his team pulled out a big-time win at San Sebastián Arena on Sunday.

The former South Medford High and Duke standout scored a game-high 22 points to lift el Lucentum Alicante to a 71-68 win over Lagun Aro GBC.

In 36 minutes, 30 seconds of play, Singler knocked down eight of his 15 field-goal attempts and went 4-for-6 at the free-throw line. He added four rebounds.

Teammate Kaloyan Ivanov had 12 points and Pedro Llompart and Rafael Freire both scored 11.

The victory snapped a two-game losing skid for Alicante (6-3).

Andy Panko paced Lagun Aro GBC with 18 points.
