Sheriff's office moving

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department will start moving to a new location at 5179 Crater Lake Highway, Central Point, next week.

The current office in downtown Medford will remain open throughout the move, but no fingerprinting or processing of concealed handgun licenses will be done May 9-11.

During the transition, a civil substation will be opened inside the Jackson County Circuit Court Building where people can ask questions about civil issues and to restraining orders. It will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Sheriff's department spokeswoman Andrea Carlson said all services should be fully restored in the new Crater Lake Highway location by May 14.
