ScienceWorks invites tinkering

Spend the weekend exploring by doing.

See more than 20 hands-on tinkering stations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday at ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, 1500 E. Main St., Ashland.

Curious creators of all ages can dismantle and fix small appliances, build sculptures from odds and ends, take a car apart, create tree sculptures from copper wire and LED lights and more.

There also will be live music by Compos Mentis and Sweet Malloy, a performance by Dancing People Company and films about tinkering at 7:30 p.m., as well as presentations by artists and inventors on Sunday. Pre-registration is required for Sunday's presentations, and additional fees apply.

Admission is $5. Call 541-482-6767 or see
