Jerry and Daphne Ross of Medford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary July 16 with a picnic in the park at the Community Bible Church in Central Point.

Jerry Ross married Daphne Smith Aug. 11, 1951, in Reno, Nev.

Jerry served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. While he was in the Air Force, the couple lived in Minneapolis and Kansas City, Mo. The couple returned to Reno after Jerry's discharge and eventually moved to Medford in 1977. Jerry worked in the temperature-control division of the heating and air conditioning industry until his retirement in 1992.

Daphne is a full-time homemaker.

Together, the couple enjoys traveling, and visiting children, grandchildren and great-grand-children.

The Ross' have three children: Jerilyn Cook of Palmdale, Calif.; Julie Kennedy of Eagle Point; and Sandra Lindstrom of Minooka, Ill. They also have eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
