The following Oregon Department of Transportation work is scheduled for the Rogue Valley in the coming week:
- Interstate 5 Exit 27, south Medford interchange: Road construction and utility work continues throughout the project area. Watch for a single lane of traffic, especially on Barnett Road. Watch for equipment and trucks working near and leaving the work zone.
- I-5 Exit 11 in Ashland and Exit 21 in Talent: Exit 11 northbound is closed to resurface the overpass. Exit 21 will remain open, but the overpass will be closed also for resurfacing. Both bridges are expected to remain closed until later this year.
- I-5 Exit 35, Seven Oaks interchange and railroad bridges: The interstate speed limit in the project area is lowered to 55 mph. The speed limit on Blackwell Road will be lowered to 35 mph. Watch for trucks entering and leaving the work area both northbound and southbound on I-5. Traffic control will be in place on Highway 99 and Blackwell Road. Watch for minor delays on these roadways. Please be alert for construction equipment movement and construction workers in this area.
- I-5 near Central Point to Rogue River, mileposts 33-49: This project repairs one bridge and replaces three others from Central Point to Rogue River: Milepost 38.73 (Foley Lane Road): No work scheduled this week; milepost 33.85 (Upton Road): Motorists can expect intermittent nighttime lane closures. Watch for roadside crews and construction equipment; Upton Road over Bear Creek: Motorists should watch for intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Watch for crews and equipment along the roadway.
