Remembering through music

The first Steven Spring and Kipp Crawford Memorial Jam Session and Fundraiser is planned from 7:30 to 10:30 tonight at the Ashland Community Center and will feature release of a DVD and CD focusing on loss and grief.

The DVD is called "DRIVE" and is a play written by Peter Spring starring himself and former Oregon Shakespeare Festival actress Shirley Patton. The CD, "Songs For The Living: A Musical Journey Through Grief," features local musicians Steve Sutfin, Darcy Danielson, Peter Spring, and Michael Maisonneuve.

The Jam will feature drummer Tom Stamper, bassist Jeff Addicott, guitarists Dirk Price and Joe Diehl, saxophonist Kent Heyward, and keyboardist Dal Carver, but it will be open to any and all musicians who wish to play.

Admission is by freewill donation, and all proceeds will go to The Steven Spring Foundation and The Kipp Crawford Memorial Fund of the Ashland Schools Foundation, to support music in the schools and the ongoing work of The SSF.

Musicians who want to play are asked to please call Peter Spring at 541-324-8275, but no one will be turned away.
