Red, White and Boom July 4th event will be largest ever, say organizers

The annual Red, White and Boom Fourth of July celebration will be the largest fireworks show in Southern Oregon history, organizers say, with live entertainment from five musical acts, food, refreshments, a beer garden and special patriotic presentations.

The free event on Thursday, July 4, will take place in the Lithia Motors Amphitheater at The Expo in Central Point.

Performers will include Gathering Pool, Jeff Kloetzel, 2nd Amendment, The Purple Heart Band and Ryan Vosika.

There also will be a special veteran's recognition that will include a video that highlights the lives and careers of two local veterans — one from World War II and one from Vietnam.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. The show will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the fireworks will start at 10 p.m. KBOY 95.7 will play music during the fireworks. Seating and parking will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

Red, White and Boom is presented by Red Robin restaurant, The Chamber of Medford/Jackson County and the city of Central Point.

"We've got a great lineup of talented singers and music acts this year that promise to make Red, White and Boom even better — it's like a mini-music festival for free," said chamber president Brad Hicks. "Plus, our patriotic portion of the show is over the top, so we're very excited. Red, White and Boom is an old-fashioned, family-friendly event celebrating our nation's holiday and bringing the entire community together for a fun time."
