Prospect shooting still under investigation

A 53-year-old Prospect man who shot another man Monday afternoon is cooperating with investigators from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, authorities said

John Davidson called 911 just before 2 p.m. Monday to report he had shot another man.

The injured man drove himself to the Mill Creek store where the store clerk rendered first aid until medical personnel arrived. A Mercy Flights air ambulance took him to a hospital. Sheriff's officials said the man had a gunshot wound to his right shoulder but was recovering today.

The sheriff's department said in a news release this morning that the shooting remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
