PRIDE celebration today

Vendors, information booths, food, a beer garden and entertainment will be available today during the Abdill-Ellis Lambda Community Center's annual PRIDE celebration at the Jackson County Exposition Park.

It begins at noon at 1 Peninger Road, Central Point. Admission is $5, or $10 for admission that includes an evening dance.

The all-ages event honors the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and is open to the public.

Entertainment will include the Rogue Valley's own Montana Soul, as well as Tanya Pluth, Marshall Woodard and Empress Daphne. At 7:30 p.m. the festivities will continue with a dance.

The Abdill-Ellis Lambda Community Center was named in memory of Michelle Abdill and Roxanne Ellis, prominent lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender activists who were murdered 10 years ago.
