PremierWest promotes marketer

PremierWest Bank has promoted Ken Wells to executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Wells leads marketing planning and analysis, brand management, advertising, community relations, media relations, direct marketing and digital media for the 44 branches of PremierWest Bank, Premier Finance Co. and Premier Investment Services Inc. He is also a member of the bank's managing committee.

Jim Ford, PremierWest's president and chief executive officer, said Wells has made significant contributions in new product development, multi-channel marketing, brand management, and community relations.

Wells joined the bank in June 2008 as vice president and marketing director and most recently was senior vice president and chief marketing officer. His career spans 30 years in marketing management, advertising, digital media, pubic relations and product development. Among his career stops have been: Conde Nast Publications, Discovery Channel, The Smithsonian Institution, New Line Cinema and Harry & David. He is a graduate of The American University in Washington, D.C., with a degree in government administration.
