Police seek woman suspected of armed robbery in Medford

A woman armed with a gun robbed a Purple Parrot store Sunday afternoon at 828 South Central Avenue taking an undisclosed amount of cash, Medford police said.

The robbery took place about 3:45 p.m. when a white female in her 30s entered the store and displayed a handgun while demanding money from the female employee, said Medford police Sgt. Brent Mak.

The suspect was last seen wearing a long-sleeve, green shirt with a green hat and black sunglasses. The woman is described as having shoulder length black hair.

Mak said the female employee, who was the only person in the store at the time of the robbery was uninjured.

Purple Parrot stores have been the target of many robberies over the years.

"For several years, they got hit about 10 times," Mak said.

In June 2010, a Purple Parrot in Central Point and in Medford both got robbed.
