Erickson Air-Crane has named longtime employee Kerry Jarandson general manager of its Central Point operations.

Jarandson has been senior director of plant operations and assumes the top role at the Willow Springs Road plant. The move follows the resignation last week of David Ford, vice president of maintenance, repair and overhaul for the past two years.

Chief Executive Officer Udo Rieder said Ford left for personal reasons related to family needs.

Jarandson has been with the company for two decades.

"He's the kind of guy that folks all around respect and trust," Rieder said. "He's been in waiting, so it's not a surprise to anyone."


Harry & David has named Jackie Ardrey senior vice president for merchandising. Ardrey will oversee merchandising and supply management across all channels of distribution, including catalog, Internet, retail and wholesale for the Medford-based gourmet food and gift company.

Ardrey has more than 20 years of merchandising experience in multi-channel retail companies. For the past 14 years, she worked at Hanna Andersson, a children's apparel retailer, where she most recently was senior vice president for merchandising, design and wholesale. Before that, she worked for May Co. and Hecht's department stores. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Penn State.


Volkswagen of America has presented Virgil Downing of Lithia Volkswagen of Medford with a 40-year award recognizing his continuous, long-term service. He is the only service technician in the country to achieve the accomplishment.

Richard Britschgi, regional representative for Volkswagen of America, Northwest, presented Downing with a commemorative plaque.


Accounting and business consulting firm Moss Adams has named Chris Schmidt to become its next chairman and chief executive officer and Dick Fohn to become president and chief operating officer.

Schmidt will succeed Rick Anderson, who announced his plans to step down from the chairman and CEO position to focus on his expanding role as chairman of Praxity, an international alliance of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms. Selected by the firm's executive committee, Schmidt and Fohn will assume their new roles during the first half of 2013.


Boyd Westeren has joined Michael L. Piels CPAs of Medford. Westeren grew up in Central Point and graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2010. After graduation, Boyd was employed by an accounting firm on the Oregon Coast and received his certified public accountant license in early 2012.


Klamath Falls door and window maker Jeld-Wen has named Scott Cottrill its new executive vice-president and chief financial officer.

Cottrill succeeds Neil Stuart, whose resignation was announced earlier this month, and assumes his new role on Oct. 15 for the company, which has 20,000 employees.

Cottrill has been 14 years with Goodrich Corp., a supplier of systems and services to aerospace and defense industries. Since 2005, he has been the company's vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer at Goodrich. Before that, he led the internal audit department. Previously, he was with accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers for 11 years.

Cottrill earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Penn State and is both a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor.
