Paving slows I-5 northbound

Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 5 between mileposts 19 and 27 should expect delays due to paving work through 4:30 p.m. today, Oregon Department of Transportation officials said.

Maintenance workers are repairing damaged concrete on travel lanes and shoulders. While minimal delays are expected, higher traffic volumes result in longer delays.

"There are some delays depending on the traffic of the moment," ODOT spokesman Gary Leaming said.

Crews should finish by 2:30 p.m. Friday and will wrap up today's work near exit 24.
