Panel discusses corporate personhood and reform

Southern Oregon University's OSPIRG hosts a panel discussion tonight about the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC, which determined that corporations are considered people and the government cannot ban political spending by corporations in candidate elections.

Sen. Alan Bates, Rep. Peter Buckley, philosophy professor Prakash Chenjeri, political science professor Bill Hughes, and attorney Megan Annand will each give a short presentation. Then the panel will take questions from the audience.

The presentation is from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Rogue River Room of the Stevenson Union on SOU's Ashland campus. Refreshments will be provided.
