Organization exchanges services while building community

Learn about lending a hand and getting some help from Ashland-based Southern Oregon Time Bank.

The group enables people offer their services to others and earn "time dollars" for the hours they work, then spend time dollars to get services they want without money changing hands. Organizers say they want to foster a sense of community like that seen at old-fashioned barn raisings.

For people interested in learning more, time bank organizers are holding a public informational meeting at 7 p.m. at the Hidden Springs Wellness Center, 635 Lit Way, behind the shopping center where Ashland Cinema is located.
