Oregon State Police exceeds goal of 800 new applicants

In its first year of using the E-Recruit electronic application system, Oregon State Police exceeded their goal of 800 new applications, obtaining that goal in six hours Tuesday, according to a news release.

"We expected a high level of interest but were surprised how quickly we reached our goal," OSP superintendent Chris Brown said.

Officials said they received 841 applications to look through before starting their physical abilities testing. Specific standards for the tests can be viewed online at www.osptrooper.com/OSP/RECRUIT/trooper_testing.shtml.
