Oregon Read event unfolds (and folds, too)

Get a taste of the culture of Japan today during an Oregon Reads 2009 event at the Ashland library.

Bill and Michiko Wisdom will teach basic origami, the art of folding paper into shapes, at 1 p.m., and Japanese stories also will be offered.

The two-hour event is hosted by library.

Oregon Reads is a community reading program, and "Stubborn Twig," one of the books in the program, is the story of a Japanese-American family.
