Oregon 99 corridor plan open houses planned

Two open houses are scheduled during the first week of April to inform the public about the Oregon 99 corridor plan, which is being developed to improve safety and capacity on the highway over the next 20 years.

The open houses are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, at Phoenix Elementary School, 214 N. Rose St., Phoenix; and 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at Talent Middle School, 102 Christian Ave., Talent.

The Oregon 99 corridor plan examines current and future uses from Garfield Street south of Medford to South Valley View Drive north of Ashland. The plan provides the Oregon Department of Transportation with specific, future highway improvement projects.

A Spanish-language translator will attend the open houses. Accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities, and alternate formats of printed material are available upon request. Call Christie Meacham at 541-957-3698 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
