OnTrack's Rita Sullivan honored by the state

Rita Sullivan, executive director of OnTrack Inc., is one of four recipients of the 27th Annual Women of Achievement Awards, sponsored by the Oregon Commission for Women Achievement.

Gov. John Kitzhaber and Secretary of State Kate Brown presented the awards Thursday at the state Capitol. They are given to women "who have exemplified leadership and success in education, public service and health care, and have demonstrated a commitment to equity and diversity," according to a news release.

Sullivan's agency provides evidence-based prevention and treatment for Southern Oregon residents struggling with addiction, poverty and related dysfunctions.

Other recipients included Dr. Jill Ginsberg, who provides free medical care for low-income and uninsured residents of north and northeast Portland; Dr. Jane Lubchenco, appointed by President Obama as the first woman to head the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and Minalee Saks, founder and executive director of Birth to Three in Eugene.
