Nominate trails for official state designation

The Oregon Recreational Trails Advisory Council hopes to expand its network of state-designated, non-motorized trails with the public's help.

A state news release said ORTAC is looking for scenic and regional trail designations. Trails that are a mile or more or combine with other trails to give users access to beautiful scenery can be nominated as scenic trails.

Regional trail nominations must be more than five miles long and link users to close-to-home recreation. Both must lie on public lands or public right-of-way easements.

The nomination period starts Oct. 1 and closes Nov. 30. More information on trail designation guidelines can be found at Application forms are also available.
