Ken Wilson will share his experiences of many years traveling in China on business in a Wisdom Seekers talk at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. Wilson, an engineer formerly associated with an American manufacturer of airline parts for Chinese aircraft companies, will discuss his contacts with Chinese ministry officials and managers of industry in the context of current disagreements over economic policies between the United States and China.

The Knights of Columbus are selling noble, Fraser and Douglas fir Christmas trees at St. Vincent de Paul, 2424 N. Pacific Highway, Medford, from Dec. 3-19. Hours are Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

ASHLAND — Ashland Kiwanis will sponsor a Giving Tree again this year at the Albertsons supermarket, 2301 Ashland St.

The tree is decorated with the names of children and their wishes for a special Christmas gift. The children are recommended by South Valley Community Human Services in Ashland. These children are from families with the lowest incomes in the community.

Kiwanis invites residents of the greater Ashland area to examine the names on the Giving Tree, take a tag of a child, buy the indicated gift or an appropriate gift, and return the unwrapped gift to Albertsons Customer Service Center.

The Giving Tree will be on display from Saturday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 17. Gifts must be returned, unwrapped, by Friday, Dec. 17.

Kiwanis members and members of the Ashland High School Key Club will retrieve the gifts and wrap them for delivery to the children before Christmas. For more information about Kiwanis, call 541-488-0532.

The Rogue Valley Country Club will host Hillcrest Committee's "A Whimsical Wonderland" from 6:30-11:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3.

The fundraiser consists of a four-course meal, music, dancing and an auction with the chance to win a theme party. Tickets are $125 per person and all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
