Unemployed or underemployed homeowners in Jackson and Josephine counties who are struggling with their mortgage payments may qualify for relief as part of the Oregon Housing and Community Services Oregon Homeownership Stabilization Initiative Mortgage Payment Assistance Program.

Homeowners who have had their household income drop by at least 25 percent over the past two years are encouraged to apply by Jan. 14.

ACCESS Inc. has opened satellite offices in Jackson and Josephine counties to help applicants, and online applications are available at

The Jackson County office is at 1112 Progress Drive, Suite 105, Medford, near the Driver and Motor Vehicle Services office, and can be reached at 541-858-3317. The Josephine County office is in the city building at 101 N.W. A St., Suite 112, Grants Pass, and can be reached at 541-450-6190.

Both offices will be open for extended hours to accommodate as many appointments as possible, officials said. Regular office hours will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
