More wet weather on the way

Another round of rain is heading for the Rogue Valley, weather officials said today in a special weather statement.

National Weather Service said the first of several fronts will move into the area Wednesday, bringing moderate rain with it. Elevations above 4,000 feet and the mountains near Mount Shasta could get several inches of snow. Strong, gusty winds area also predicted for the Rogue, Shasta and Summer Lake valleys Wednesday.

Additional fronts, which likely will move in Thursday and through the weekend, are expected to bring heavy rains to the region, especially along the Southern Oregon and Northern California coasts. Between five and eight inches of rain are expected in Curry and Siskiyou counties.

Meteorologists are currently working on updating the forecast with more specific data on the effects of the storm in Jackson County.
