Medford's interim planning director steps down

After four months heading up the Medford's planning department as interim planning director, Bianca Petrou stepped down today and is being replaced by the city's economic development coordinator, Bill Hoke.

"Bianca expressed to Bill and I weeks ago that she did not want to be in that position much longer," said Mike Dyal, city manager. He said Hoke's role will be primarily as an administrator and he will rely on the staff for its professional service.

Petrou has returned to her position as assistant director.

Meanwhile, the nationwide search to fill the position continues. Dyal said the city is setting up interviews for June for a full-time planning director.

The former director, Rob Scott, retired January 15. Correction: See below.
