Medford road projects coming

A long list of road projects is in the works in coming months in Medford, city officials have announced.

They are seeking citizen input on all of the projects at

The projects include:

€¢ Improvements to Owens Drive and Coker Butte Road in north Medford. The city is scheduled to seek bids in November 2009.

€¢ Improvements to the intersection at Table Rock and Merriman roads. The project, set to have begun already, has been delayed until June as the public works department relocates utilities.

€¢ Extension of Holly Street. A wetlands consultant is working to obtain the permit that will allow construction to proceed.

€¢ Reconstruction of Mace Road between Howard and Connell. City staffers are preparing for a public hearing.

€¢ Alley improvements between Jackson and Stevens streets. The City Council has approved an agreement with the state to pave 12 alleys in an area bordered by Stevens Street, Queen Anne Avenue, Crater Lake Avenue and Pearl Street.

€¢ Improvements to Garfield Street between Peach and King streets. City staff is preparing for a public hearing on the project.

€¢ Stabilization of Hillcrest Road east of Stanford Avenue. The city has hired a consultant to prepare construction drawings for the project.

€¢ Replacement of the bridge over Larson Creek at North Phoenix Road. The design is complete, and the project will be advertised for bids soon.

The public works department also is preparing for new sidewalks for Springbrook Road between Delta Waters and Cedar Links roads and on Holmes Avenue from Kenyon to Oakdale.
