Marijuana, cash, guns seized in Williams

A Josephine County drug enforcement team seized marijuana, cash and guns at a Williams area residence and charged two men with possession, manufacture and delivery of marijuana.

The Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team, also known as RADE, served a search warrant at an address in the 4400 block of Williams Highway on Sept. 22. During the search, they found and seized 53 mature plants and 274 starter plants, as well as processed marijuana, authorities said in a news release today. Officials said the ongoing follow-up investigation precluded releasing information about the raid earlier.

Investigators also seized more than $12,300 cash, packaging material, electronic scales, police scanner, and seven firearms including four handguns, a shotgun, and two rifles, one of which is an AR-15 assault rifle, the news release said.

Officers arrested Arden E. Schuecking, a 49-year-old who lives at the rural property, on charges of possession, manufacture and delivery of marijuana. He was lodged in the Josephine County Jail, but is no longer listed as an inmate.

Another resident Rickie E. Lotts, 59, was cited and released on the same charges.
