Man injured in rollover crash on I-5 near Rogue River

Oregon State Police continue to investigate a rollover crash on Interstate 5 north of Rogue River that seriously injured a 29-year old Grants Pass-area man early this morning.

The preliminary investigation indicates that shortly after 3 a.m. Jesse D. Maurer was driving a GMC Yukon north on the freeway, when he lost control near mile 47. The vehicle rolled multiple times, then came to rest upright off the freeway's east shoulder, OSP reported

Maurer was taken by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass with what police described as serious injuries.

OSP troopers based in Central Point are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. Investigators are looking into whether alcohol could have been a contributing factor. They didn't know if Maurer was wearing a seat belt.
