Magnitude 3.8 quake reported in Southern Oregon

GOLD BEACH, Ore. — A magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported Friday morning in Southern Oregon.

A U.S. Geological Survey report placed the quake 26 miles northeast of Gold Beach, 34 miles northwest of Grants Pass in a mountainous area of the Rogue Valley.

The agency report said it happened at 5:53 a.m.

Law enforcement personnel in the two cities said there had been no noticeable shaking or reports of damage.
