Lecture aims to help women manage menopause

Gynecologist and surgeon Karen Kronman of Providence Medical Group-OB/Gyn Health Center will discuss the stages of menopause, associated symptoms and the latest treatment options available.

The free presentation, titled "Managing Menopause: Transitioning with Grace," will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Medford library, 205 S. Central Ave. (Correction: The date has been added to this story after initially being inadvertently omitted.)

Kronman will help decipher conflicting information regarding the risks and benefits of hormone replacement therapy, and the pros and cons of bioidentical versus synthetic hormones. She will also shed light on why women suffer common symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, low libido, dry skin, aching joints, emotional changes and memory loss, then explain ways to help alleviate these symptoms.

There will be a question and answer period at the end of the talk, which is sponsored by Providence Medical Group, in partnership with the Jackson County Library Foundation, Jackson County Library Services and Friends of the Medford Library.
