Kroger serves last day as Oregon's AG

Attorney General John Kroger

Friday is John Kroger’s last day as the attorney general of Oregon. He is leaving the position early to take up a new post as the president of Reed College.

Kroger officially begins at Reed on Monday. Reed Media Coordinator Kevin Meyers says that he stood out from the other applicants.

“He did seem driven by an intellectual curiosity, and I think he going to need that to be able to relate to the faculty and staff and students at Reed," Meyers said. "And we are really looking forward to having him on board.”

Kroger moved to Portland ten years ago to be a professor at Lewis and Clark Law School. Before that he served as an assistant U.S. attorney in New York City.

Kroger has been Oregon’s attorney general since 2009.
