Kids show forest park work

Twenty-one children involved in a Earth Teach Forest Park art and primitive living skills session this week will show off their work to the public at 4 p.m. today at the park.

The park is east of Ashland off Dead Indian Memorial Road. To reach it, drive nine miles on Dead Indian Memorial Road and turn at the large Earth Teach banner at the park's entrance.

Children in the session have made their own paint and dye from lcoal sources, studied the history and origin of colors, made origami figures, masks and clay sculptures, learned to make fire with friction and build debris shelters.
