Kansas pulls away from UCLA

LAHAINA, Hawaii — Elijah Johnson scored 23 points and No. 14 Kansas nearly blew all of a 20-point lead before pulling away for a 72-56 win over UCLA in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational on Tuesday night.

Thomas Robinson had 15 points and 10 rebounds, Tyshawn Taylor added 13 points and six assists and Kansas reached Wednesday night's championship game against No. 6 Duke, undefeated in the Maui Invitational while winning four titles.

No. 21 Missouri 92,No. 20 California 53

At Kansas City, Mo., Kim English had 19 points to lead six Tigers in double figures and Missouri dominated California to win the CBE Classic.

Marcus Denmon added 18 points and was the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Matt Pressey had 13 points and Michael Dixon finished with 11 for the Tigers (5-0), who built a 45-26 lead by halftime and the outcome was never in doubt over the final 20 minutes.

USC 65, Morgan State 62

At Los Angeles, Maurice Jones hit the go-ahead free throw with 1:57 remaining and Aaron Fuller had a key steal late to help Southern California beat Morgan State.

Fuller scored a season-high 19 points and Jones added 18 points as the Trojans (2-3) snapped a three-game losing streak.
