Journey through the Gershwin songbook

The national touring production of "'S Wonderful: The New Gershwin Musical" is in Medford tonight.

The nostalgic song-and-dance revue of the music and lyrics of songwriting team George and Ira Gershwin takes the stage at Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater, 23 S. Central Ave., Medford.

The story is inspired by real events that occurred in and around the Gershwin brothers' lives. It starts in 1916 in New York City, then heads to Paris in the '30s, Hollywood in the '40s and New Orleans in the '50s, along the way paying tribute to more than 40 hits such as "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off," "Shall We Dance," "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Rhapsody in Blue."

The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $24 to $30, $17 to $23 for ages 18 and younger, and are available at the Craterian's box office, 16 S. Bartlett St., online at www.craterian.org or by calling 541-779-3000.
