Jefferson Pubic Radio will broadcast three Presidential debates

Jefferson Pubic Radio will broadcast three debates beginning Oct. 3, between President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger Mitt Romney. Additionally one debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Romney's running mate Paul Ryan will also be broadcast.

All four debates can be heard on JPR's Classics and News Service beginning at 6 p.m., and are scheduled to last 90 minutes. Following the debates, NPR will provide analysis from NPR Senior Washington editor Ron Elving, political analysts E.J. Dionne and Matt Continetti, and several NPR policy reporters. Listeners will also hear insights from NPR's traveling campaign reporters.

The debate schedule is as follows:

First presidential debate (domestic policy):

Jim Lehrer, Executive Editor of the PBS NewsHour

Wednesday, Oct. 3, University of Denver, Denver, Colo.

Vice presidential debate (foreign and domestic policy):

Martha Raddatz, Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent, ABC News

Thursday, Oct. 11, Centre College, Danville, Ky.



Second presidential debate (town meeting):

Candy Crowley, Chief Political Correspondent, CNN and Anchor, CNN's State of the Union

Tuesday, Oct. 16, Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y.



Third presidential debate (foreign policy):

Bob Schieffer, Chief Washington Correspondent, CBS News and Moderator, Face the Nation

Monday, Oct. 22, Lynn University, Boca Raton, Fla.
