It's a fine day for a train ride

Get in on one of the final weekends of the year for the Medford Railroad Park, where train fans young and old can catch rides on small-scale trains operated by several clubs.

The park near the intersection of Table Rock Road and Berrydale Avenue is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and admission is free, although donations are acccepted.

In addition to riding the little steam trains at the park, visitors can view scale model railroad layouts, send and receive telegrams, participate in handcar and motor car rides, and view historical railroad equipment and artifacts.

The park runs the second and fourth Sundays of the month through October.
