Is the bus for you?

If you've been avoiding mass transit simply because you've got more bus questions than bus answers, the Rogue Valley Transportation District wants to help.

As part of a "Explore Your Transportation Options" week that starts today, RVTD will offer free interactive tours of how to use a bus.

They're set at 9 a.m. at the Cascade Community Pool, at 10 a.m. at Ashland's Second Street and Lithia Way, at 11 a.m. at the Talent Community Center, at 11:30 a.m. at the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, at 12:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville information sign; at 1:30 p.m. at Medford's Hawthorne Park and at 3 p.m. at Central Point's Second and Manzanita streets.

RVTD employees will show potential patrons how to signal to get on and off a bus, how to use devices for disabled riders and how to put a bike on the bus carrier.

Take the tour, and then study up: RVTD's offering a week of public transit activities, including free rides everywhere the buses go on Monday.
