Investigators look for details about White City intruder with a gun

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in finding an armed man who was spotted hiding in a White City home on Friday.

A woman returned to her home in the 3200 block of Antelope Road in White City, unlocked her front door and walked into the house Friday evening.

Inside, she saw a man she didn't know standing in the living room, looking out the window, the sheriff's department reported in a news release today.

She told investigators that the man appeared to be hiding from someone. When he saw her, he pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her and motioned with his other hand for her to be quiet. He then ran out a back door.

The woman called 911 at about 6:50 p.m. to report the incident. Multiple sheriff's deputies and officers from Eagle Point Police Department responded, surrounding the neighborhood and talking with everyone they saw, the news release said.

Numerous neighbors and bystanders were questioned, but officers got little information about the situation, officials said.

The suspect is described as a white man, wearing black pants, a red shirt, and a black beanie hat. He appeared to be about 30 years old. He has a medium build and is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He has short blond or strawberry blond hair and was clean shaven.

Investigators ask anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious or has any other information about the case to call the sheriff's tip line at 541-774-3888.
