Inbee Park, Kerr lead in Canada

EDMONTON, Alberta — Top-ranked Inbee Park shot a 5-under 65 for a share of the second-round lead with playing partner Cristie Kerr in the Canadian Women's Open on Friday.

Park, the South Korean star who swept the first three majors of the season and has six LPGA Tour victories this season, had seven birdies and two bogeys at Royal Mayfair to match Kerr at 8-under 132.

Park finished second last year at Vancouver Golf Club, three strokes behind teen star Lydia Ko.

Kerr, coming off the United States' loss to Europe in the Solheim Cup, shot her second straight 66. She won the Kingsmill Championship in May for her 16th career LPGA Tour title.

Angela Stanford, 0-4 for the United States in the Solheim Cup, and France's Karine Icher were a stroke back. Icher had a 66, and Stanford shot 68.

Cox Classic

At Omaha, Neb., Ashland native Jason Allred cleared the cut line by improving his on his Day 1 score with a 3-under-par 68, the second day of the Cox Classic at Champions Run.

Allred's start was rough with bogeys on hole Nos. 2 and 3 but he broke even with birdies on the next two holes. He continued with birdies on Nos. 10, 13, 15 and 17. He had a bogey on No. 14.

He finished in a tie for 37th with a two-day total of 137 — good for 5-under par — after recording a 69 in the opening round. The cut line was 4-under.

Leading the event is American Brice Garnett at 11-under with a 130 total. He shot a 63 on Day 2 to grab a one-stroke lead over six other players.

Boeing Classic

At Snoqualmie, Wash., Bart Bryant got off to a fast start in his bid to win consecutive Champions Tour titles, shooting a 6-under 66 to take the first-round lead in the Boeing Classic.

Johnnie Walker Championship

At Gleneagles, Scotland, Argentina's Ricardo Gonzalez shot his second straight 7-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead in the European Tour's Johnnie Walker Championship.
